The predicted salary is between 14.88 - 14.88 £ per hour.

Our client urgently requires two Warehouse Team Leaders to work for a local company based in Peterborough. Hours are rotating shifts of 06.00-14.00 pm and 14.00-22.00 pm Monday to Friday. Pay rate is £14.88 per hour + £47.00 per week freezer supplement. It is a 37.50 hour per week position but working hours must be flexible as shift changes and weekend working is required during busy periods.

  • Warehouse space: Frozen – 9120 sq metres, Chilled – 6180 sq metres, Ambient – 6980 sq metres

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and supervise a team of warehouse operatives to ensure they work effectively to meet customer demands.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day activities within the warehouse whilst being able to involve themselves in practical work on the warehouse floor as required.
  • Daily management of a team of warehouse operatives and agency staff on shift through planning resources to ensure activities on shift are achieved.
  • Carry out staff daily brief detailing current day’s workload, any specific communication points and allocate duties, as necessary.
  • Monitor hygiene and housekeeping and promote a clean‑as‑you‑go policy to maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Ensure all equipment within the warehouse is well maintained and in safe working order.
  • Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and oversee working practices ensuring temperature checks, equipment checks, correct stock rotation, etc., are maintained.
  • Undertake MHE duties as required, ensuring daily safety checks are carried out thoroughly.
  • Assist with regular and spot stock takes as required.
  • Follow the requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures for the safe and legal handling of food.
  • Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are adhered to.
  • Ensure all waste is segregated and disposed of in line with the company processes, recycling wherever possible.
  • Where applicable, conduct investigations in line with the Company’s disciplinary procedure.
  • Deal with poor performance, attendance and general misconduct in line with Company policies.
  • Conduct site walk rounds frequently and report any issues as required.
  • Complete handover reports to be passed on to the next shift.
  • Carry out any other reasonable management instruction to the expected standards that ultimately supports the business.

  • Experience of hygiene procedures, standards and equipment in the chilled food industry
  • Experience of working with standard operating procedures
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Good computer skills
  • A 'Can do' attitude and proactive approach
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach and flexible in a busy changing environment
  • Be able to lead, motivate, supervise and develop staff to ensure effective working
  • Good time management with an ability to manage own and team workload within pre‑set deadlines
