Role Summary

Teaching assistants with experience in specialist centres, special schools, or mainstream schools.

Candidates with an interest in a specific EHCP area who take a lead and impart knowledge to colleagues.

Candidates who want to support the development of learning support assistants within their class teams and across the school.

Working Pattern

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:45am – 3:45pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break.

Wednesday: 8:45am – 4:30pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break.

Professional Development

Becoming a lead practitioner in your EHCP area of interest (e.g., communication) and sharing this expertise with others.

Induction and training package includes:

  • TEACCH – supporting pupil independence.
  • Behaviour for Learning – providing the best universal supports.
  • Being a compassionate school.
  • Semi‑formal and / or formal curriculum.
  • Pedagogy of reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Targeted interventions (Attention Autism, Augmented Communication, Zones of Regulation, Social Thinking and Emotion Coaching).

All successful candidates must undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, we may also conduct an online search to identify any matters related to safeguarding duties.
