We are seeking a talented Sous Chef or an ambitious commis/chef de partie to join our long standing team of 5 in our busy freehouse pub with rooms. The ideal candidate will assist the team in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production and maintaining food safety standards. They will have flair and an eye for detail whilst being able to keep up with the fast-paced environment. We are a family owned freehouse with a farm to fork ethos and encourage career development from within.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Assist in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Oversee food production processes to deliver exceptional culinary experiences
- Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Contribute to the training and development of kitchen staff
- Collaborate with the team to achieve culinary excellence
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Proficient in food preparation techniques and culinary skills
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and kitchen procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and management
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while upholding quality standards
Salary expectation would be dependent on skill set and experience and is based on a 48 hour week. The role is available from September. Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year. Benefits: Company pension. Work Location: In person.
