Currently, I have an opening for a Research Associate located in Cambridge, MA. Details for the position are as follows:

  • Pay Range: $33-$43/hour
  • Contract Duration: 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent based on performance and budget.

The successful candidate will maintain and expand the cell repository, including routine scale-up of cultures, sample preparation for QC experiments (mycoplasma, MAP, C.Bovis, and STR tests), distribution of banked cells/vials across the organization, and characterization of new cell lines. Work closely with lab management, facilities, Lab Operations, Discovery Operations, CROs, and EHS to coordinate cell bank and tissue culture-related activities. Demonstrate willingness, adaptability, and capability to perform multiple tasks and manage large-scale sample management. Utilize a wide range of immuno-oncology, molecular, and cellular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture and cell-based proliferation/viability assays. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity with the Automation Cryogenic Storage System for Sample Management is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience in cell immunology, protein/antibody science, molecular biology, or equivalent work experience, with strong knowledge of cell biology, immuno-oncology, and cell therapy.
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, including aseptic techniques for media preparation, passaging, maintenance, and cryopreservation.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in large-scale sample management.
  • Proficiency in analyzing scientific datasets and familiarity with electronic document management systems, cell bank work presentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic immuno-oncology and cancer biology skills are required; advanced skills are highly desired.
  • Experience in preparing and tracking test samples for QC experiments (mycoplasma, STR, cell viability tests).
  • Experience in a cGMP environment and knowledge of large-scale cell culture and media preparation are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and filling weekly cell requests.
  • Tracking cell banks for release and stability testing.
  • Authoring SOPs, technical reports, CoAs, and regulatory documents.
  • Ability to work independently to solve scientific questions and contribute to team projects.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills for effective coordination with research teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
