Hobbs London is a luxury women’s fashion brand, showcasing timeless British style and expert craftsmanship. Since our first shop opened in Hampstead, London in 1981, Hobbs has grown from a small yet sought-after shoes label to a global brand synonymous with the best of British design. Season after season, each Hobbs collection embodies the multifaceted nature of our modern woman – we pride ourselves on crafting pieces she loves to wear. Tailored to be feminine, you’ll find everyday polish alongside standout event dressing. Since becoming part of TFG London in 2017, a listed retail conglomerate owning Phase Eight, Hobbs London & Whistles in the UK, we have seen growth and development prospects across the business.

Our buyers are at the core of our business, developing and delivering commercial and profitable ranges that offer our Hobbs customer a point of difference. We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join us on our Outerwear department. Working closely with the design team to develop new product ranges seasonally, our buyers ensure our ranges are delivered on time achieving company KPI’s (in-take, margin and markdown) and partner closely with the merchandising team to drive profits. Alongside the Senior Buyer, our Junior Buyer will anticipate and meet the needs of our global customer on the department, delivering a well-balanced range in line with our product and overall brand strategy.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Planning for our Ready To Wear department, preparing lessons learnt and strategy together with the Merchandiser to propose options and recognise spend and building blocks.
  • Meeting the margin target for the total season, influencing our brand product strategy in partnership with the broader Buying team, reporting back to the Head of Buying.
  • Partnering with our Design and Merchandising teams to develop and build a commercial range, being clear on competitor activity and on the opportunities within the department to ensure we are without gaps or duplication.
  • Anticipate new trends and product opportunities whilst meeting the needs of our customer.
  • Develop strong working relationships with our supplier base, both long and short lead time, ensuring that product requirements, quality and compliance are met to ensure we are not exposed.

Across the TFG Brands, we pride ourselves on having our people at the heart of everything we do. We will give you the tools and the time to develop your career in the direction you want to go. Alongside that, we have some great benefits which include:

  • Hobbs Employee Discount of 70%, and 50% discount with Whistles and Phase Eight, as per the TFG Brands Discount Policy.
  • Up to 28 days holiday entitlement per annum in addition to the usual public and bank holidays.
  • Financial and Wellbeing assistance.
  • Enhanced Maternity package.
  • Virtual GP service – unlimited access 24/7.
  • Plus much more!

TFG London Inclusion and Diversity statement of commitment: At TFG London and across all our brands we are committed to creating an inclusive culture that welcomes, develops and celebrates a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, cultural references and ideas and opinions within our business.
