Suicide Prevention Manager Location : London Salary: £37,398 – £41,553 per annum We are looking for a Suicide Prevention Manager. This is an exciting new opportunity to join our Team. We are The Forward Trust, the social enterprise with charitable status that empowers people to break the often interlinked cycles of crime and addiction to move forward with their lives. Our services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community. What you will be doing? Within the substance misuse directorate, we deliver a variety of services including drug and alcohol interventions across a number of custodial and community settings. Our clients represent a wide spectrum of the communities we work in, and some present complex and multiple needs, and are of a high risk nature. Our work to reduce mortality rates with our client group, and those not directly in treatment is ongoing. However, we continue to be concerned with the levels of suicide and are determined to reduce this. The creation of this role is a direct response to Forwards determination, and the role is seen as critical in progressing Forward Trust to achieving this ambition and saving lives. Please see a list of the general duties for this role below. Attend internal and external meetings (online and in-person). Prepare written and verbal reports as required. Support with training and the development of staff, stakeholders and clients. Visit services across the entire Forward Trust portfolio. Attend events and functions (internal and external) as required. Support the development of business with contract tendering, fundraising applications and performance reports. Work in collaboration with communication colleagues to enhance awareness. Be responsive and flexible in your approach to the needs of the organisation. Offer a good level of accessibility and visibility to the entire organisation. Be highly responsive with communication such as email, telephone and Teams etc. Represent the organisation in a professional and caring manner. As the initial postholder of this newly created role, ensure its launch and early phase is widely promoted, purposeful, well-received and successful. Line management responsibilities What are we looking for? As a Suicide Prevention Manager, you will possess the following skills – Knowledge and experience of suicide and self-harm prevention co-ordination and/or management Strategy and policy development. Project planning and delivery across multiple areas of an organisation. Influencing, culture enhancing leadership and/or change management. Auditing, needs assessment and remedial/improvement planning Being impactful and working across multiple operational sites Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including IT skills (eg Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel) Experience of establishing and maintaining efficient systems. Confident in public speaking and presenting to groups. Able to understand different stakeholders and their needs, prioritising work as necessary and working autonomously. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi task and a high level of attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
