What you will be doing The Senior Night Support Worker will work of on a rotating rota of day, evening and waking night shifts. The role will involve providing general support to male and female clients as part of a 24/7 residential rehabilitation unit, including provide service users with access to their medications, providing brief individual interventions and facilitating some structured interventions during the evenings. As a role with the potential of lone-working, the post holder will be required to work on their own initiative, utilising the on-call support functions as necessary. In addition to the general duties of a night worker, as senior support worker, your job includes overseeing support workers and training them on the best care methods for service users. You should be passionate about impacting people’s lives positively and possess leadership skills to motivate other support workers to provide the best support to the vulnerable. As a Senior, you will also: Provide oversight, training and support to the Night Team, specifically to ensure the safe delivery of assisted self-administration of medication for service users Facilitate and record a monthly night shift team meeting In consultation with the Service Manager organise monthly night shift/weekend rotas Provide/arrange cover for any gaps in the rota to ensure continuity of service Raise and escalate any concerns Assist in the induction and training of team members, including observations of medication administration Form part of the on-call response by taking part in an overnight and weekend on-call rota What we are looking for Please see below a list of skills and experience required for this role. HCA Level 3 Qualification Experience of administering medications Team Leader experience Good observational and reporting skills. Ability to work alone using own initiative. Understanding of and commitment to the principles of equality and diversity, confidentiality, health and safety.
