As a Full Time (35 Hours) Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse at HMP Highdown, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to individuals with substance dependency, supporting recovery in a challenging yet highly rewarding environment. You’ll work in close partnership with HM Prison Service and a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care that meets the highest professional standards.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical assessments and tailored treatment plans for drug and alcohol users
  • Managing your own caseload with autonomy, accountability, and professionalism
  • Providing safe and effective medication management, including risk-based decision making
  • Leading on risk assessments across high-risk areas, including safeguarding and illicit drug use
  • Promoting health and wellbeing, supporting complex physical and psychological needs
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
