We're looking for a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Substance Misuse Service at HMP Brixton on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of an integrated healthcare team, supporting men in custody to address drug and alcohol use, improve their wellbeing and take meaningful steps towards recovery and resettlement.
Based on-site within a busy Category C resettlement prison, you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering recovery-focused, trauma-informed psychosocial interventions to adults aged 18+ with substance misuse needs. From assessment and care planning to structured 1:1s, group work and release planning, this is a varied and rewarding role with real impact.
In this role, you'll manage a caseload and deliver high-quality health and wellbeing support to service users throughout their time in custody. You'll work closely with healthcare and partner agencies to ensure individuals receive the right support at the right time, from arrival into prison through to release.
