As Sous Chef, you will be second‑in‑command to the Head Chef and play a key part in the smooth running of our kitchen. You will help deliver consistent, high‑standard dishes every service, support with menu development and ensure our kitchen runs efficiently, safely and to the highest hygiene standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef with day‑to‑day kitchen operations and organisation.
- Prepare, cook and present dishes to our exact recipes and standards.
- Supervise, train and support junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Control stock, reduce waste and manage food costs.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety and hygiene regulations.
- Step up to lead the kitchen and run full services when the Head Chef is off.
- Help create new dishes and update seasonal menus.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients and food presentation.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2/3 desirable).
- Ability to work well under pressure, lead a team and stay organised during busy services.
- Reliable, hard‑working and passionate about great food.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
