Location: St Peter's Sports Hub, St. Peters Road, Wallsend, NE28 7BF and other locations as required

Commitment: 37.5 hours per week including some evening and weekend work.

About the Role

Northumberland FA are seeking a Marketing & Communications Officer to deliver and evaluate marketing activity that supports Northumberland FA's objectives. Promote programmes, events, facilities and initiatives through digital and offline channels. Ensure consistent messaging, strong engagement and positive stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate marketing campaigns aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Create engaging content for social media, websites, email marketing and offline materials.
  • Manage day-to-day social media channels, including scheduling, posting and monitoring engagement.
  • Create and update website content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and brand consistency.
  • Support internal and external communications, including newsletters, announcements and updates.
  • Provide marketing and communications support for events, including planning, promotion and post-event coverage.
  • Support the delivery and promotion of County Cup Finals, including pre-event communications, on-the-day content capture and post-event reporting.
  • Maintain consistent branding across all marketing and communications materials.
  • Design or coordinate basic marketing assets such as graphics, posters and flyers.
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance using analytics and KPIs.
  • Work with internal teams, partners and stakeholders to gather information and support campaigns.
  • Assist with partnership and sponsorship promotion.
  • Maintain content calendars, marketing plans and asset libraries.
  • Carry out administrative and reporting tasks related to marketing activity.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Who We're Looking For

Essential

  • Relevant qualification or training in marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Ability to create engaging content for digital and offline channels.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Basic design and content creation skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing social media channels.
  • Experience creating written content for a range of audiences.

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in marketing, communications, media or a related subject.
  • Apprenticeship or professional development in marketing or communications.
  • Basic photography or video editing skills.
  • Experience using analytics to evaluate marketing performance.
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of grassroots sport, community organisations or not-for-profit environments.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and website content optimisation.
  • Experience supporting events, live activations or County Cup Finals.
  • Experience working with websites or content management systems.
  • Experience supporting campaigns, partnerships or sponsorship activity.
