The FA is looking for a Performance Analyst to support our Men's Technical team. The successful applicant will play a key role in the continued evolution of a leading performance analysis department that provides age-appropriate, advanced processes and insights into team, player and opponent performance. You will work closely with England National coaches to support tactical development, drive England's DNA+ playing principles, and contribute to the recruitment and growth of English players.
What will you be doing?
- Effective delivery of the performance analysis strategic programme to identified England Pathway teams (U20-16) including:
- Age/stage appropriate analytical profiling of opposition teams and players.
- Provide detailed resources to transfer understanding of Principles of Play, Game Plans, Set Plays, and position specific profiles/development plans.
- Comprehensive analysis of England performances with delivery of insights to support detailed game reviews.
- Support coaches to deliver programmes focusing on specific game management, penalty, and individual player development.
- Design camp learning plans that maximise accelerated learning and ensures football intel, content, and feedback are aligned to the specific objectives of training, match, camp, and the unique needs of that age group.
- As part of the technical team across various competitions and tournaments, provide robust bespoke metrics/benchmarks which enable the effectiveness of England team's playing philosophy to be measured and optimised.
- Benchmark opposition metrics/intelligence to deliver effective, consistent insights to inform a winning strategy for England teams.
- Produce both live and video scouting reports of players in alignment with the depth chart and focus on key positions.
- Deliver key player case studies and positional profiles that help underpin and support evidence-based selection and development of pathway players.
- Contribute to key internal and external research projects which underpin future service development & provide insights to the coaching process.
- Provide data, video and learning reports and resources through the extraction and visualisation of data sets to support preparation, review, and long-term strategic planning for England teams.
- Develop close & highly effective working relationships with coaching staff through capturing reliable and consistent data, video and other intelligence whilst contextualising it into tactical insights.
- Execute additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.

- Essential for the role:
- Experience in an elite level football environment.
- Exceptional footballing knowledge, with an ability to contextualise this knowledge and produce coach & player facing materials.
- Excellent knowledge of and proficiency in the use of sports analysis systems and technologies.
- A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.
- Knowledge and experience of working alongside data science and advanced modelling teams to predict performance.
- Relevant vocational qualifications and experience that provide an understanding of the technical and tactical demands of Professional football.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Work conscientiously and with total discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Masters or doctorate in a related field of work or equivalent experience.
- UEFA B Licence or equivalent.
- FA Talent ID Level 2.
- Experience of International Football.
