Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Podiatrist role based in York. The Podiatrist will provide comprehensive foot and ankle assessments, diagnose conditions, and deliver appropriate treatments, including routine podiatry care, nail and skin procedures, and wound management. Day-to-day responsibilities include biomechanical assessments, orthotic prescription and fitting, and diabetic foot screening and ongoing management. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical records, collaborating with colleagues to optimize patient care, and educating patients on foot health, preventative care, and treatment plans. The Podiatrist will also contribute to service quality improvement and may support the selection and recommendation of foot care products that complement clinical treatments.

Qualifications

  • Clinical expertise in Podiatry with solid grounding in Medicine relevant to foot and ankle care.
  • Knowledge of Biomechanics for gait analysis, musculoskeletal assessments, and treatment planning.
  • Experience with Orthotics including assessment, prescription, and fitting of custom and prefabricated devices.
  • Competence in Diabetes-related foot care, including screening, risk assessment, and ongoing management.
  • Recognized degree in Podiatry and eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills, attention to detail, and commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patient groups and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and training in modern podiatry techniques and therapies.
