Role Overview:

The Senior Garment Tech will take ownership of fit, quality, and technical development across the collection, ensuring all products meet The Fold’s standards for consistency, construction, and design integrity. This role plays a critical part in translating creative vision into a well-executed product, working closely with Design, Buying, and Production to deliver garments that align with both brand and commercial expectations. You’ll lead the fit process, manage technical development from initial concept through to sealing, and ensure all products are delivered in line with the critical path. You’ll take full responsibility for maintaining fit consistency across categories, proactively identifying risks and driving solutions throughout development. Alongside this, you’ll support and develop junior team members, contributing to a strong and collaborative technical function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Development & Fit
    • You’ll take ownership of fit, quality, and technical execution across the collection, ensuring consistency and alignment to brand standards.
    • Support the Design team to ensure the Fold aesthetic is achieved across all products.
    • Own fit consistency across the collection, ensuring all garments meet brand and quality expectations.
    • Lead and manage the block development process across all categories.
    • Take ownership of fit sessions with Design, driving clear outcomes and actions.
    • Ensure all tech packs are accurately updated with fit comments and specifications, and communicated to suppliers in line with the critical path.
    • Use technical expertise to protect and improve margin through fit, construction, and fabric choices.
  • Critical Path & Production Support
    • You’ll ensure technical processes stay on track, proactively managing timelines and risk throughout development.
    • Own the technical critical path through all stages of the sealing process, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Proactively identify and manage product risk, resolving issues ahead of production.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between Design, Production, and Buying.
  • Team Support & Development
    • You’ll contribute to a strong and collaborative team environment while supporting development across the function.
    • Mentor and support junior members of the team, helping to build capability and confidence.
    • Promote best practice across technical processes and fit standards.

About You

You’ll be a confident and detail-driven technical professional, with a strong understanding of product construction and the ability to take ownership of fit, quality, and technical execution in a fast-paced environment, with:

  • Solid technical background across multi-product categories, with strong knowledge of garment construction and production requirements.
  • Experienced in managing fit sessions, confidently assessing and refining garments to achieve consistency and quality.
  • Strong understanding of garment grading and measurement specifications.
  • Proven experience working within a commercial, design-led environment, balancing aesthetic with performance.
  • Proven experience within design-led fashion brands, delivering high-quality, well-executed product.
  • Combines a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving and product development.
  • Strong communicator, able to build effective relationships.
  • A collaborative team player who can guide and support others, contributing to team development.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using MS Office tools to support technical and production processes.
