We explore new technologies and invest in infrastructure to accommodate hydrogen, biomethane, CO₂ and other molecules for a climate neutral future.
Interconnector Limited operates a bi‑directional natural gas pipeline and terminals linking the UK and continental European gas markets. The Interconnector offers a unique commercial service and can import and export large volumes of gas providing flexibility to customers.
We are seeking an Electrical Technician to join our team in Bacton. Knowledge of Instrumentation would be an advantage but not essential. This is a key position within the team and the successful candidate will help drive a strong safety culture and promote Interconnector’s Health, Safety and Environmental goals.
Your responsibilities:

- The position also requires the post holder to carry out their duties within the company’s Permit to Work system and safety management systems, processes and procedures.
- Recording and documenting all maintenance‑related activities will be carried out using the company CMMS and other reporting systems as required.
- The successful candidate will also prepare plant and equipment for maintenance activities as defined within the maintenance procedures which you will be capable of reviewing.
You will preferably have completed a recognised apprenticeship and have experience of working within a Safe System of Work. You will have several years’ experience in the Oil, Gas or similar industry with transferable skills. CompEx qualifications or similar would be preferable and a safety qualification or professional membership would also be an advantage.
All employees are recruited not just on their technical competency but also on their behavioural competencies. A team‑ and performance‑oriented candidate that is organised yet flexible with the ability to effectively make decisions will be suited to this role. You must have a proven track record of working well within a multi‑disciplined team.
About you:
- Impact: Make a credible and confident impression on others and interact in a way that considers and respects the opinions of others while also standing up for your own ideas.
- Building relationships: Identify and initiate working relationships, develop and maintain them in a way that is of mutual benefit to both parties. Contribute to effective collaboration.
- Broad thinking: Look beyond your own domain and place business issues in their broader context. Look beyond your own role and understand how it fits within the larger organisation.
- Agility: Smoothly deal with change, embrace it and adjust behaviour and approach to varying and unclear situations. Adapt your own behaviour to changes in the work environment.
- Ownership of results: Take responsibility to address issues, seize opportunities, build performance and act proactively to best contribute to company success. Take initiative to achieve targets.
- Leading: Get others excited about the company’s ambitions and provide direction and support to achieve bold results. Behave like a company ambassador.
- Open Mindedness: Be open to new realities, to others’ ideas and individual differences, and to your own need to change.
