We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team at Flour Pot Bakery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen operations, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. As a Senior Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting our bakers and chefs, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and up to our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train junior kitchen porters, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and sanitising work areas.
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients and basic food preparation tasks as needed.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies, including cleaning materials, utensils, and ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance issues to the kitchen manager.
- To ensure that the kitchen is always fully stocked with cleaning and drying materials (including managing the laundry).
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage conditions.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Bakery Manager or Head Chef.

- Proven experience as a kitchen porter or similar role in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
