Flexi Key Holder - First Avenue, Brighton and Hove
The Role
The Flour Pot Bakery is a retail and wholesale artisan bakery with stores in Brighton, Hove and Worthing.
We are seeking an experienced barista to assist as a key holder across our 12 sites (Brighton, Hove and Worthing).
The right candidate will have similar experience in a high quality cafe environment, have a good understanding and passion for the high end coffee world, with practical know-how around an espresso machine a must.
Creating a fantastic customer experience and workplace environment for your team is crucial to this role, as well as personality, drive and a level head.
The role will include travelling between our 12 Flour Pot sites, training ground for Brighton and Hove Albion and the AMEX stadium.
You will have the responsibility of opening and closing duties when on shift.
You will need to be able to travel independently between the stores (driver preferable).
When travelling to our stores in Worthing we shall cover petrol costs or train/bus fair.
The role will involve needing to get to each store for an open shift which starts at between 6-6:30am (store dependent).
As well as the close down procedures should you be rota'd on for a close shift (max finish time 6:30pm).
This role is the perfect stepping stone into further career opportunities with the Flour Pot as well as having a great chance for every day to be different.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Management and teams in the day-to-day running of the store
- Deliver excellent customer service in line with Flour Pot standards
- Ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all customers
- Monitor product presentation and quality, ensuring consistent standards
- Manage stock levels, including ordering and waste control
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Handle customer feedback professionally and efficiently
- Open and close the store, including cash handling and reconciliation duties
Requirements
- Previous experience in a café, bakery, or hospitality key holder or supervisory role
- Passion for food, coffee, and delivering exceptional service
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices (Level 2 Food Safety desirable)
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Barista experience is a strong advantage
