The Role
The Flour Pot Bakery is looking for a passionate and customer-focused Barista/Front of House team member to join our growing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, and ensuring our store is a welcoming and vibrant space for customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customers feel welcome and valued.
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including expertly crafted coffee-based drinks.
- Operate espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment with precision.
- Assist customers with menu choices and offer recommendations on our baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all front-of-house areas, including counters, tables, and equipment.
- Process transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with stock management, including restocking display cases and ensuring freshness of products.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Training ground (Brighton and Hove Albion FC) - All staff that work at the Southwick site are also required to carry out shifts at our coffee cart set up at the BHAFC training ground.
Please note as part of this it is required for us to carry out an enhanced DBS check.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a barista or front-of-house role is preferred but not essential—training will be provided.
- Passion for coffee, baked goods, and excellent customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a proactive approach to teamwork.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of coffee-making techniques and food safety standards is a plus.
