At the Flour Pot Bakery, we are committed to delivering exceptional baked goods to Brighton, Hove, Worthing, and the surrounding areas in Sussex. As the Senior Packer/Slicer at Flour Pot Bakery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate packaging of our freshly baked goods. You will assist in the responsibility of helping lead a team of packers, maintaining packaging standards, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals.
The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Please note, this role is based on late evening/early hours of the morning based rotas. You must be able to independently travel to and from work. Example shifts include: 5pm - 12am, 7:30pm - 3:30am.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:- Shift lead a team of packers/slicers (during Lead Packer/Slicers days off and annual leave), ensuring they adhere to quality and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure a smooth transition from baking to packaging.
- Oversee the proper packaging of various baked goods, including bread, viennoiserie and pastry.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all products meet Flour Pot Bakery's standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of packaged goods to identify and address any quality issues.
- Collaborate with the Lead Packer/Slicer to ensure that packaging materials always maintain the par levels of stock.
- Provide thorough daily handovers to the Bakery management team and Lead Packer/Slicer.
- Knowledge of a previous bakery operation – desirable.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- To be a positive and effective communicator within the bakery team.
- To have a flexible attitude towards working hours and willing to assist in all areas of the operation.
