We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Artisan Baker to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for sourdough and traditional bread-making processes. You will be responsible for producing a range of handcrafted breads/buns, maintaining consistency and quality, and upholding the bakery’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of artisan breads, sourdough and bun products
- Maintain and feed sourdough starters, ensuring optimal fermentation
- Shape dough by hand using traditional techniques
- Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking processes to achieve consistent results
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards
- Manage ingredient stocks and assist with ordering when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and food-safe working environment
- Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and seasonal products
- Proven experience in artisan bread baking, particularly sourdough
- Strong understanding of fermentation, hydration, and dough handling
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours
