Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Floorlayer role based in Sheffield. The Floorlayer will prepare subfloors, including cleaning, levelling, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper installation. Daily tasks include measuring and cutting materials, installing a range of commercial flooring products (such as vinyl, carpet tiles, safety flooring, and LVT), and finishing edges and transitions to a high standard. The role involves reading and interpreting site plans, working safely with adhesives and tools, and coordinating with site managers and other trades to meet project deadlines. The Floorlayer will also carry out inspections, minor repairs, and ensure all work complies with company quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Practical flooring installation skills, including subfloor preparation, accurate measuring, cutting, and fitting of commercial flooring materials.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, with strong attention to detail and quality of finish.
- Knowledge of site health and safety practices, safe use of hand and power tools, and handling of adhesives and materials.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work professionally with clients, site managers, and colleagues.
- Proven experience as a Floorlayer or in a similar trade role within commercial or industrial environments.
- Willingness to travel to different sites as required within the region and occasionally across the UK.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeships in flooring or construction are advantageous.
- Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
