The Flex is creating the future of flexible accommodation. We operate and manage properties across multiple cities and countries, bringing together hospitality, technology and operational excellence to make renting a home as effortless as booking a hotel. As our international footprint expands, we are searching for an outstanding Strategic Finance Manager to help build the financial systems, controls and insights required to support a rapidly growing global business.

Your Mission: As Strategic Finance Manager, you will play a central role in The Flex’s financial operations. Your objective will be to give the business complete clarity over where its revenue comes from, how its money is spent, how each area is performing and where profitability can be improved. Your responsibilities will span accounting, financial analysis, management reporting, payment reconciliation, budgeting and business performance. You will have exposure to the entire organisation, collaborating directly with operations, revenue management, property teams and senior leadership.

What You Will Own:

  • Lead and continuously strengthen our day-to-day financial controls and reporting, ensuring that every number shared with management is accurate, validated, complete and supported by reliable evidence.
  • Identify repetitive and manual finance tasks, create more efficient processes and collaborate with our engineering teams to automate them.
  • Reconcile payments from Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, direct reservations and other distribution partners, confirming that every expected payment is received correctly and on schedule.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and incoming transactions, ensuring that funds are properly received and recorded while investigating and resolving discrepancies quickly.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Review supplier invoices and expenses incurred across the company.
  • Oversee statutory filings and corporate compliance requirements across several jurisdictions, making sure that all submissions are correct and completed within the required deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors and banking partners to maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely compliance.
  • Assist with financial statements for landlords and property owners whenever required.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide management with real-time visibility into company performance.
  • Evaluate financial results across individual properties, cities, countries and business units.
  • Create and maintain company budgets, forecasts and financial models.
  • Track cash flow and support management in planning future funding and capital needs.
  • Detect financial risks, discrepancies and potential sources of revenue leakage.
  • Review the company’s cost base and uncover opportunities to strengthen margins.
  • Partner with operational teams to understand, control and reduce costs at property level.
  • Contribute to financial due diligence for acquisitions, investments and expansion into new markets.
  • Communicate financial findings, recommendations and actionable insights directly to the founders and management team.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A highly analytical individual who is confident and comfortable working with numbers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an uncompromising approach to financial accuracy.
  • A strong understanding of accounting concepts and financial principles.
  • The ability to work effectively with significant volumes of financial and operational data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Strong capabilities in financial reconciliation, controls and problem-solving.
  • A commercial mindset—you do more than report figures; you understand their meaning and implications for the wider business.
  • A strong sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability.
  • The confidence to work independently, find solutions and navigate unfamiliar challenges.
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment where priorities may evolve quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The confidence to communicate and work directly with senior management.
  • A genuine interest in technology, automation and AI, together with the ability to identify opportunities to improve and automate finance processes.
  • The ambition to grow quickly and assume substantially greater responsibility over time.
  • Experience in accounting, audit, investment banking, private equity, FP&A, consulting, hospitality, real estate or a high-growth startup would be highly valuable.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics or another analytical discipline is preferred, although exceptional applicants from other backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

What Success Will Look Like:

  • Developed a detailed understanding of the financial performance of every major area of The Flex.
  • Established dependable monthly management reporting across the company.
  • Ensured that payments from booking platforms and commercial partners are fully reconciled and that all expected funds are received.
  • Significantly improved visibility into cash flow, profitability and unit economics.
  • Uncovered meaningful opportunities to lower costs and improve margins.
  • Automated several finance processes that were previously completed manually.
  • Established yourself as a trusted financial partner to the founders and management team.
  • Taken responsibility for increasingly important areas of the company’s finance function.

Why Join The Flex?

  • Become part of a rapidly growing international business operating at the intersection of real estate, hospitality and technology.
  • Work closely and directly with the company’s founders and senior leaders.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the financial operations of a business spanning multiple countries.
  • Influence profitability and contribute directly to major strategic and commercial decisions.
  • Help design and build the finance function instead of simply taking over an established set of processes.
  • Apply technology and AI to reimagine how a modern finance function should operate.
  • Take meaningful ownership and responsibility from your first day.
  • Receive a competitive salary together with performance-based incentives.
  • Benefit from exceptional long-term career progression as The Flex continues its international expansion.

You Should Not Apply If:

  • You want a conventional corporate 9-to-5 position with limited and narrowly defined responsibilities.
  • You rely on someone else to continuously tell you what needs to be done.
  • You are uncomfortable taking responsibility and being accountable for the quality of your work.
  • You would rather report financial figures than understand, challenge and improve them.
  • You engage in workplace politics, gossip or conversations about colleagues behind their backs.
  • You are searching for a slow-moving, predictable role with limited career progression.
  • You do not aspire to become one of the very best in the world at what you do.
