Overview
The Flavour Network are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business based in Cumbria. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of production lines through both planned and reactive maintenance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Maintenance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production setting and is committed to minimising downtime and improving plant performance.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Maintenance Engineer
- Work closely with production shift supervisors and managers to identify and resolve potential issues, minimising downtime
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant productivity
- Ensure adequate stock levels of spare parts in collaboration with the engineering administration team
- Adhere to preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance work, ensuring all permits are in place prior to starting
- Assist external contractors with installation and project work, providing technical support where required
- Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all health & safety standards are met at all times
- Monitor machinery and plant equipment during production, completing all documentation
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to a high standard
- Work confidently on key components, including: Pumps, Mincer blades, Presses, Screws
Candidate Requirements for the Senior Maintenance Engineer
- Essential: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Essential: Experience working with heavy machinery in industries such as mining or other large-scale industrial/manufacturing environments
- Strong mechanical bias (a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is desirable)
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Strong communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and escalate issues
- Capable of making informed decisions and communicating effectively
