They are seeking an experienced senior wayfinding designer; you will need to show you have created a full wayfinding scheme with a family of signs from within a hotel, space, head office, restaurant, bar etc. You will work in collaboration with our internal interior design team and other celebrated international architects. The graphics team produces wayfinding, branding, and environmental graphic design for several of the world's most luxurious interior spaces. The candidate will be required to deliver innovative and intuitive graphic solutions for prestigious leisure projects.
Responsibilities
- As a senior member of the team, you will lead various stages of projects, working alongside a senior project manager, to proactively adhere to schedules while pushing creative briefs.
- Your role will encompass wayfinding strategy, including location planning, content development, and spatial analysis.
- You will develop and implement intuitive navigation systems and signage strategies across diverse environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsâdesigners, architects, clients, and fabricatorsâto deliver meaningful user experiences through spatial storytelling and visual communication.
- Conduct research for the organizational, cultural, and physical context, define clear signage and wayfinding strategies based on experience requirements, audience journeys, and site context.
- Generate multiple initial concepts, and develop viable, documented design solutions.
- Integrate messaging, colour, imagery, type, and composition into two- and three-dimensional built environments and present both internally and externally to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, industrial design, environmental design, architecture, visual communication or related field.
- 5+ years professional experience in environmental graphic design, print/digital design, or similar studio experience.
- Experience developing and communicating strategic foundations for projects.
- Experience with planning, documentation and management of environmental graphic, wayfinding and signage projects in the context of the built environment.
- Experience leading client presentations and relationships.
- Ability to lead and organise project teams.
- Experience across a variety of project scales and complexity of environments.
- Demonstrate the ability to translate strategy into design solutions.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and MS Office.
- Familiarity with architectural construction documents, scales, sections, plans and elevations; proficiency in drawing in scale.
- Use of SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modelling programs a plus.
- Working knowledge of motion graphics software, digital video editing, or other skills related to designing for and creating dynamic content a plus.
