p Scenic Carpenter / Workshop Manager /p p Birmingham / West Midlands /p p £34,000-£36,000 pro rata /p p 2.5 days a week full time part time /p p Pllus overtime! /p p br /p p Part-time initially, with potential to become full-time /p p br /p p Join a growing scenic design and construction studio producing imaginative work for theatre, television, film, advertising and events. /p p Were looking for an experienced Scenic Carpenter who combines excellent practical skills with initiative, organisation and creative problem-solving. This is more than a carpentry role: youll help run the workshop, lead project delivery and shape how the team grows. /p p br /p p The Role /p p Working closely with the business owner, youll take projects from technical drawings through construction and installation. Your responsibilities will include: /p ul li Building scenic structures, sets, furniture, props and installations /li li Planning materials, labour and workshop schedules /li li Reading drawings, plans and specifications accurately /li li Organising and maintaining a safe, efficient workshop /li li Operating and maintaining woodworking machinery and tools /li li Supporting and supervising freelance carpenters and workshop staff /li li Solving technical and construction challenges /li li Coordinating and assisting with on-site installations /li li Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard /li /ul p br /p p About You /p p Youll be an experienced carpenter or fabricator, ideally from scenic construction, events, theatre, film, television or a related field. Youll also be: /p ul li Confident interpreting technical drawings /li li Skilled with woodworking machinery and hand tools /li li Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects /li li Organised, proactive and solutions-focused /li li Able to manage others when required /li li Comfortable communicating with clients, contractors and production teams /li li Willing to travel and work both in the workshop and on site /li /ul p Above all, youll take pride in your craft and enjoy turning ambitious ideas into reality. /p p What We Offer /p ul li £34,000-£36,000 pro rata, plus paid overtime /li li Guaranteed part-time hours initially (getting paid even during the quiet periods!) /li li Join a growing company! /li li Potential to develop into a full-time position /li li Varied and creative projects - no two weeks are the same /li li Genuine autonomy and responsibility /li li The opportunity to improve workshop systems, develop a production team and influence a growing business /li li Strong potential for progression /li /ul p br /p
