We’re working with a well-established and highly regarded consumer baby brand based in Berkshire who are looking for an experienced Freelance Events Manager to take ownership of their busy events programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned events professional who can become a genuine extension of the internal team – bringing together creative thinking, commercial awareness and excellent hands-on delivery.
The events programme includes everything from major consumer exhibitions and trade shows, including The Baby Show, through to smaller brand activations and events.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of events from initial concept and planning right through to execution and post-event evaluation. Working closely with the internal marketing team and external partners, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging, on-brand experiences while ensuring every element is meticulously planned and delivered.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of large-scale exhibitions, trade shows and smaller brand events.
- Taking events from initial concept through to on-the-day delivery.
- Developing creative ideas and experiences that bring the brand to life and engage its target consumer.
- Managing event plans, timelines, budgets, logistics and all associated deliverables.
- Coordinating agencies, suppliers, venues and other external partners.
- Managing multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the process.
- Ensuring events support wider brand, marketing and commercial objectives.
- Being hands-on with delivery while maintaining a strategic overview of the overall events programme.
- Measuring event performance and success.
- Capturing learnings and making recommendations to continually improve future events.
About You
We’re looking for someone with significant events experience who is confident stepping in and owning the events function. You’ll ideally have:
- Extensive experience delivering brand-led events, ideally within a consumer-facing environment.
- Strong experience of large-scale exhibitions and trade shows alongside smaller events and activations.
- Proven experience managing the full event lifecycle from concept through to delivery.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers and external partners.
- Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how events contribute to wider marketing and business objectives.
- A proactive, hands-on approach combined with the ability to think strategically.
- Experience evaluating event performance and using insights to shape future activity.
The Assignment
The ideal freelancer will be available to start early to mid-September, allowing plenty of time to get embedded within the team ahead of The Baby Show, taking place 23–25 October. The requirement will continue beyond this event, supporting the wider events programme throughout the remainder of the year and into 2027. This would suit an experienced Events Manager who enjoys becoming part of a brand team, taking genuine ownership and delivering brilliant consumer experiences from start to finish.
