London (Hoxton) | Hybrid (3 days in the office) Up to £70,000 + Benefits

Are you the type of finance professional who genuinely enjoys rolling up your sleeves? We’re looking for an experienced, technically strong Head of Finance to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a growing creative agency. This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days sat in strategy meetings or managing large teams. Instead, you’ll be at the heart of the business, taking full responsibility for the finance operation and ensuring everything runs accurately, efficiently and on time. This is a hands-on, “doing” role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Payroll, pensions and HMRC submissions
  • VAT returns and statutory reporting
  • Purchase and sales ledger oversight
  • Bank reconciliations and supplier payments
  • Managing Xero and finance systems
  • Producing insightful financial reporting and analysis
  • Supporting budgeting and commercial decision making
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team while remaining hands‑on in the day‑to‑day running of finance
  • Continuously improving finance processes and controls

About you:

We’re looking for someone who loves being involved in every detail of the finance function. You’ll be technically excellent, highly organised and confident working autonomously. You’ll enjoy solving problems, answering questions from colleagues and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. You’ll probably be an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance from a small or medium‑sized business where you’ve been responsible for the full finance function.

You’ll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Experience producing management accounts from start to finish
  • Excellent cashflow forecasting and budgeting skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues

The person:

This role will suit someone who:

  • Loves being hands‑on rather than delegating
  • Enjoys ownership and accountability
  • Is naturally collaborative and approachable
  • Is commercially aware but equally happy processing invoices or paying suppliers
  • Takes pride in producing accurate, timely financial information
  • Wants to become a trusted member of a close‑knit leadership team

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful creative agency where you’ll have real ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
