Food Service Staff in Lisburn

We are seeking to recruit food service staff to join our award-winning team at The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast. You will provide a warm, friendly and efficient food service to our guests, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and maintained at all times in line with guest expectations.

If successful, your role within the food service operation will be as buffet attendant. The shift pattern for this position is 5.00am-1.00pm. It will be your responsibility for delivering an exceptional dining experience by maintaining an elegant, well-presented, and smoothly operating buffet service. This role combines hospitality, attention to detail, and high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Presentation & Replenishment: Ensure all buffet items are attractively displayed, properly labelled, and continuously replenished with fresh offerings.
• Guest Assistance: Greet guests warmly, answer questions about dishes (including ingredients and dietary information), and provide attentive, personalised service.
• Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain immaculate cleanliness of buffet stations, utensils, and surrounding areas in accordance with luxury hotel and food safety standards.
• Coordination with Kitchen: Communicate efficiently with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely refills and proper food temperature control.
• Ambience Maintenance: Monitor lighting, décor, and station arrangement to uphold the hotel's premium atmosphere.

In addition to buffet responsibilities, as a food service team member you will:

• Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our team members and guests.
• Ensure that guests are seated and provided with menus promptly.
• Ensure that all guests' requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively, delivering exceptional service at all times.
• Familiarise yourself with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available in order to answer any questions guests may have.
• Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
• Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all food and beverage orders in line with guest expectations, maintaining an exceptional level of service at all times.
• Set up, clear and promptly service tables after use to ensure that guests can be seated in a timely manner.
• Ensure the bar areas are clean and well presented at all times and assist with cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.
• Ensure all cash, charge, float and till procedures are carried out in line with departmental procedures.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment would be a distinct advantage.
• Accurate and efficient cash handling skills.
• High standard of personal presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality and an ability to interact with people at all levels.
• Ability to take initiative and resolve queries in a practical and positive manner.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
• Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and colleagues.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail.
• Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend and evening work will be required).
