We are a luxury property in the very heart of Belfast city, much loved by both our global and local portfolio of guests.
OUR FRONT OFFICE/GUEST RELATIONS
We have 146 guestrooms within our hotel, offering a range of room types. The Front Office Department is made up of three main areas: reception, concierge and night concierge; our experienced concierge team are responsible for many aspects of our guests' experience.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Working with us as Concierge will give you the opportunity to join an experienced and passionate concierge team. Our Senior Concierge is a long-standing member of Les Clefs d'Or, the golden keys of Ireland. The team ensures that each guest is in the care of a professional, dedicated to maximising the potential comfort and ease of each visit, whether for business or pleasure.
As concierge, you will report to the Director of Rooms and be supported by the Senior Concierge and Assistant Front Office Managers. It will be your responsibility to complete all concierge related responsibilities in accordance with the department's standard operating procedures, on a daily basis, and you will showcase your skills and knowledge by:
- Responding to telephone and email inquiries from internal guests in a timely and respectful manner;
- Responding to telephone and email inquiries from future guests to ensure they have a comfortable and hassle-free stay;
- Meeting and greeting our guests and visitors warmly and making them feel welcome;
- Valet parking of guest cars;
- Assisting guests to their room ensuring a full room orientation is completed;
- Offering restaurant and activity recommendations and assisting guests in arranging transportation and excursions;
- Developing an extensive knowledge base of local amenities such as restaurants, shops, attractions, transportation options, and airports;
- Assisting guests in a pleasant, proactive and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up as necessary;
- Knowledge of all essential aspects of our hotel operations;
- Receiving and redirecting all mail, phone calls and packages;
- Ensuring that guest spaces and the lobby are clean and tidy at all times;
- Acting as a liaison between guests and other departments as required including kitchen, housekeeping, etc.;
- Anticipating guests' needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional five-star guest experience;
- Maintaining inventory of supplies and ordering new stock as required;
- Lifting and handling of guest luggage and belongings.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
ESSENTIAL
A full UK clean Driving Licence - Minimum of 2 years driving experience - over the age of 25 years for insurance purposes.
A minimum of one year's recent experience working in a customer-facing role.
A passion for people.
A high level of confidence, motivation and resilience;
The ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and guests;
Proven ability to contribute to a diverse team;
Excellent administrative and organisational skills;
Ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure;
Ability to address and manage guest issues with a can-do attitude;
Sharpened attention to detail.
DESIRABLE
Previous experience working as a hotel concierge.
Experience of using Opera PMS.
Understanding AA standards of excellence;
Understanding 5* Tourism NI standards;
