Role Overview

The ESG Integration Lead will play a crucial role in shaping the firm’s sustainable investment strategies, with a particular focus on Transition Finance, Climate, and Biodiversity. This position offers the opportunity to drive ESG integration across the business, collaborating with internal teams and affiliates to ensure that sustainability is embedded across all investment processes. Your deep expertise in sustainability and finance will help guide the firm’s strategies in line with global climate and biodiversity goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Implement Sustainable Investment Methodologies : Shape and refine the firm’s approach to sustainability, with a particular focus on Climate Transition and Biodiversity Footprint . Lead the development of investment strategies that align with global climate goals and the preservation of biodiversity.
  2. Market Positioning & Regulatory Insights : Establish and maintain the firm’s positioning on key sustainability topics, including climate change and biodiversity, while keeping an eye on market trends, peer activities, and regulatory frameworks. Share insights through participation in external industry groups and publications.
  3. Embedding ESG Across the Firm : Work collaboratively across departments to ensure the integration of climate-focused and biodiversity initiatives into investment and business processes. Help implement and monitor sustainability policies and ensure the firm’s practices are aligned with evolving regulatory standards.
  4. Advisory Support : Engage with the broader business to understand their varying approaches to ESG integration, especially in relation to climate change adaptation and biodiversity preservation . Share best practices and ensure that affiliate strategies align with the firm’s sustainable investment goals.
  5. Business Development & ESG Product Innovation : Lead the development of new climate-related and biodiversity-focused ESG products , coordinating with affiliates to ensure alignment across functions and a smooth product launch process. Advise on product strategies within the firm’s New Product & New Activity (NPNA) Committee.
  6. Internal ESG Product Classification : Advise affiliates on the classification of ESG products, ensuring consistency with climate-related and biodiversity metrics. Work closely with other functions to maintain robust processes and continue improving product classification standards.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  1. Expertise in ESG Integration : Strong knowledge of how climate transition and biodiversity considerations are integrated into investment strategies, and the ability to apply this expertise across various asset classes and investment types.
  2. Climate & Biodiversity Knowledge : Proven experience in shaping sustainability methodologies and implementing those within the business, particularly around climate transition planning , carbon footprint analysis, and biodiversity risk assessments .
  3. Sustainability Regulation Understanding : In-depth knowledge of sustainability regulations, particularly those related to climate finance (such as SFDR and UK SDR) and biodiversity frameworks, ensuring compliance with evolving ESG-related policies.
  4. Research & Analytical Capabilities : Strong research and analytical skills to understand the intersection of finance , climate change , and biodiversity and to stay ahead of industry trends.
  5. Communication & Stakeholder Management : Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex climate and biodiversity data to internal and external stakeholders, and work across various functions to promote ESG integration.
  6. Collaboration & Leadership : Ability to collaborate with internal teams and lead cross-functional working groups, particularly in the areas of climate transition and biodiversity conservation , to drive the firm’s ESG initiatives forward.
