Our client are an industry leading experiential and shopper marketing agency who manage all in-store and out-of-store experiential events and activations for some of the most well known FMCG and retail brands. The New Business Development Director will lead their net-new client growth. This is a senior commercial role, responsible for identifying, developing and converting high-value new business opportunities that align with strategic ambitions.

Owning the full new business lifecycle — from lead generation and qualification through to pitch leadership and contract conversion — this role is critical to building a strong, profitable pipeline of long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Driving Strategic Growth
    • Own the end-to-end new business process from opportunity identification through to pitch and contract conversion.
    • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline aligned to their revenue and growth targets.
    • Deliver annual new business revenue, focused on long-term, high-value client relationships.
    • Execute strategic plans to expand their footprint in priority sectors and categories.
  • Lead Generation & Market Insight
    • Identify priority sectors, brands and opportunities based on market and consumer trends.
    • Proactively network to uncover qualified new business opportunities.
    • Partner with Marketing on lead generation, campaigns and outreach.
    • Provide insight and intelligence to inform their strategic direction.
  • Client Engagement & Pitch Leadership
    • Build relationships with senior client stakeholders.
    • Shape and refine client briefs to ensure clarity, relevance and commercial impact.
    • Lead internal pitch teams and oversee all RFP and RFI responses.
    • Develop and present compelling, insight-led proposals that clearly differentiate them.
  • Internal Collaboration & Strategic Influence
    • Inspire and mobilise internal teams to produce commercially strong new business responses.
    • Ensure solutions align with client needs and their strengths.
    • Manage seamless handover of new clients into Client Development.
    • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, strengthening their position as a trusted partner.
About You
  • Proven success in new business development within experiential, brand experience and/or social marketing (retail experience highly desirable).
  • Strong background selling consultative, insight-led solutions rather than transactional services.
  • Demonstrable experience building and converting high-value pipelines.
  • Well-developed industry network with the ability to open doors and create opportunity.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and proposal-writing skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary pitch teams and managing RFP/RFI processes.
  • Strong understanding of brand experience, consumer behaviour and category trends.
  • Commercially astute, with a clear grasp of revenue, margin and long-term client value.
