Responsibilities
- Manage digital publishing schedule
- Fact‑check articles
- Edit regular reviews that appear in the FT
- Keep in touch with arts and entertainment PR people to maintain a schedule of upcoming events that we may want to feature
- Maintain schedules with freelance writers
- Write and commission features where required
- Work with the picture editor on all aspects of story presentation across print, mobile and digital platforms
Qualifications
- Had several years of experience in arts journalism; a good knowledge of and interest in the arts
- Passion for music or television is a particular asset
- Willingness to take on tasks big or small, including fact‑checking and scheduling
- Ability to conjure up original headlines and standfirsts
- A hard‑working, ambitious journalist with an eye for detail
- Able to collaborate effectively with freelance and staff writers
- Adept social media skills
- A creative thinker with a strong teamwork ethic
