The Role / Position Overview
We are looking for an Event Manager to join our Event Delivery team who will manage start to finish logistics for international in‑person events and digital events. We are looking for an organised and professional candidate that is confident when communicating at all levels with senior internal stakeholders and external clients. The Event Manager will help FT Live to deliver world‑class in‑person and digital / hybrid events and ensure all expectations are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Sponsors: ensuring all contracted deliverables are met to the highest standard
- Speakers: providing comprehensive support and management throughout the speaker onboarding process
- Suppliers: sourcing, negotiating and liaising with suppliers
- Budgetary control: maintaining budgets, controlling costs with suppliers and negotiating without compromising quality
- Preparing and maintaining realistic forecasts and budgets and submitting complete and accurate accounts to strict deadlines
- Set‑up and steer project meetings with other members of the team to ensure smooth delivery
- Being present and project managing your events onsite or digitally
Required Skills / Experience
- Proven, successful event management experience is essential
- Confident, able to work with minimum supervision to strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Extremely organised with excellent prioritisation skills - able to multitask and work on multiple events at the same time
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to deal with people at all levels face to face, in writing or over the phone
- Highly numerate
- Able to pick up new skills quickly, especially around tech and digital software
- Flexibility to travel internationally as required
