The role

The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) is a prominent managing general underwriter (MGU) in the London Market.

Our underwriting comprises of three pillars, Bespoke, Specialty, and Reinsurance, with Bespoke and Specialty making up he majority of the premium.

As well as our in-house underwriting teams, we operate an MGA incubation platform called Pine Walk, which provides turn key solutions for new underwriter-led MGA’s.

An opportunity has risen for a Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager to join the group at an exciting time, following The Fidelis Partnership’s (TFP’s) significant growth since Jan 2023, as well as TFP establishing as a Lloyd’s of London coverholder, with the TFP Syndicates 2126 and 3123 being managed for us by Asta.

The successful candidate will have practical experience of working in compliance for an insurer or intermediary in the London Market, leading a variety of compliance monitoring activities.

The successful candidate will work under their own initiative to take the lead on compliance monitoring, and will have autonomy to engage, and make decisions, with key stakeholders.

  • Key accountabilities
  • Lead and manage the compliance monitoring activity for the Compliance team to ensure effective execution of monitoring activities.
  • Conduct thematic reviews to identify and assess compliance risks across various business areas.
  • Perform fact finds and desk-based monitoring to evaluate adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor the implementation of corrective actions to ensure timely closure.
  • Develop and maintain compliance monitoring plans and schedules.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices to enhance the compliance monitoring framework.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance monitoring processes and requirements.
  • Take ownership of compliance monitoring reports to the Management Committee, and Boards.

Skills & experience

  • Experience in compliance monitoring within the insurance industry, preferably in the London market.
  • Detailed understanding of the FCA rulebooks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
