The Fidelis Partnership is a privately-owned, Bermuda-based Managing General Underwriter, which, through its subsidiaries, is a global underwriter of property, bespoke and specialty insurance and reinsurance products. Specialty insurance includes aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance covers property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.
Reporting to the UK CUO, the primary purpose of the role is to assist in underwriting a portfolio of Energy Specialty lines of business. The role will focus on analysing and maintaining the accuracy of all (re)insurance submission data, policies, and records with the goal of ensuring that Fidelis’ interests are properly managed and protected.
- Participate in the underwriting process, evaluation, and presentation of submissions, analysing and interpreting exposures, determining coverage and contract language.
- Assist and work with risk modeling and pricing tools.
- Monitor market developments and remain current regarding knowledge of all relevant classes of business and legislated and regulatory changes/requirements.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of underwriting data in group underwriting systems.
- Provide assistance to prepare and issue quotes, binders and policies on an accurate and timely basis.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and progress towards ACII or other relevant commercial insurance industry designations is required. Previous London Insurance Market experience is highly desirable. Good knowledge of commercial insurance and regulatory requirements is essential. Established networks and strong existing relationships with brokers and clients, and ability to independently manage meetings are important.
Excellent analytical skills, with a working knowledge of and ability to interpret the outputs of pricing models, and the statistical skills necessary to perform analyses on first principles are needed. Basic competency in MS Office applications: Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Standard is required.
