The Con Club is one of Altrincham's most established hospitality destinations. Combining a busy restaurant, vibrant bar, private events business and thriving community atmosphere, we're now looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead the next chapter of our growth. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who thrives on building high‑performing teams, delivering memorable guest experiences and driving commercial success.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation and financial performance of the business. You will lead, inspire and develop the management team, ensuring exceptional standards across every aspect of the guest journey. Working closely with the Directors, you will help shape the future of the business, driving revenue growth, operational excellence and a culture that attracts and retains great people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of managers and hospitality professionals.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences across restaurant, bar and events operations.
  • Drive sales, profitability and commercial performance.
  • Take ownership of labour, stock control, cost management and P&L delivery.
  • Recruit, train and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ensure operational standards, compliance and company procedures are consistently maintained.
  • Analyse business performance and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Work closely with the Reservations & Events team to maximise bookings, occupancy and revenue opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships within the local community and represent The Con Club brand.
  • Lead by example on the floor during key trading periods.

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Operations Manager within a premium hospitality environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets, labour and profit delivery.

  • Experience managing high-volume food, beverage and events operations.
