To work individually and as part of the team in providing high quality service to guests whether it be in the restaurant or the bar. To promote a hospitable and professional image to the guest and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance, with prompt, caring and helpful attitude.
Key Tasks
- To provide first class service to hotel guests and assist guests in a sincere and courteous manner.
- Deal with customers promptly.
- Ensure the environment is clean and presentable at all times.
- Give guests your immediate attention where possible, or signal that you will assist them soon.
- Ensure all drinks and foods served are presentable, and served to the correct standard.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel and local area.
- Be aware of the timings for the hotel – including service, check out, check in etc.
- Prepare to answer questions about hotel facilities, local restaurants/attractions and our own restaurant and the menu on offer.
Professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Adhere to the uniform policy at all times.
- Ensure your uniform is clean and pressed.
- Ensure you are presentable at all times when guest facing.
Work in any area or department of the hotel as required and carry out any duty as reasonably required by management.
- Assist colleagues where required.
- Be prepared to assist where required in all departments to ensure a high quality of customer service for our guests.
Work Environment
- Ensure work environment is ready at the start of your shift, and ensure it is constantly stocked so that guests can be served quickly.
- Keep the bar, lounge and restaurant areas clean and tidy at all times – ensuring glasses/crockery are collected and the surfaces/tables cleaned promptly.
Greet Guests
- Greet guests on arrival or as they take their seats at the table.
- Provide menus and any information on specials as required.
Drink Recommendations/Service
- Serve the right drink, to the right guest.
- Provide advice based on the guest’s preferences – utilising your knowledge and training to provide recommendations.
Customer Service
- Keep a positive attitude and remain polite even if faced with a difficult decision.
- Keep an eye on customers to provide a first class service and watch for signals / notice when they want attention.
- Periodically perform a satisfaction check and take any additional orders / clear items as required.
Legal and Safety
- Follow all licensing laws as applicable.
- Ensure your working area is safe and notify the Duty Manager if you see anything which requires attention.
