This program is designed for students currently pursuing a two- or four-year degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the internship experience.

It is not designed for graduates.

Falkirk views this position as an opportunity to expose an Information Technology (or related) student to work experience relating to the support and advancement of technology infrastructure and related environments.

The successful candidate will work with our innovative Information Systems team in pursuit of their goal of achieving exceptional support and continued cost-effective development of industry leading systems.

This candidate will be energetic, personable, and able to work efficiently in a group setting or independently as directed.

3-month position (May 2027 through August 2027) 8-month position (May 2027 through December 2027)

Job Description: Duties / Tasks:

  • Facilitate and advance innovative ideas into action.
  • Design and develop applications to advance business processes.
  • Network and server administration tasks.
  • Workstation configuration and deployment.
  • Help assist and support all field technologies (drones, high precision GPS, real-time monitoring, radios, etc.).
  • Perform maintenance on all computer equipment and related peripherals.
  • Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management.
  • MSHA law/safety/environmental – Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required Enrolled in accredited Information Systems or related program and is in good academic standing with the college or university.
  • Completed a portion of college in the associated field of study and intents on completing the degree.
  • Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license

ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR POSITION:

  • Intermittent: None
  • Occasionally (0 -1/3 of workday): Climbing stairs, sitting trunk rotation, and lowered work/standing.
  • Frequently (1/3 – 2/3 of workday): Sitting, floor to waist lift (68 lbs.), waist to eye lift (68 lbs.), bilaterial carry (68 lbs.), unilateral carry (50lbs.), and push and pull (50 lbs.)
  • Continually (2/3-3/3 of workday): none

NOTE: This position requires working rotating shifts. The role involves approximately 80% indoor work and 20% outdoor work. Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, face shield, and respirator.

Must also successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and the applicable Job Function Test (JFT).

Starting Date: May of 2027 End Date: August of 2027 or December of 2027

Starting Salary: $25.88 - $29.11 (Hourly)
