Falkirk looks at this position as an opportunity to expose an Engineer/Surveying student to a working operation and show the individual how an engineering group functions in a working operation. At the same time, Falkirk will utilize the individual’s time to accomplish tasks that will benefit the operation. This is an excellent opportunity to get real world experience in a high energy and fun work environment. The successful applicant should have strong computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD are a plus).

Job Description
- Surveying – Assist the survey crew with office computations and fieldwork utilizing GPS, drones, robotic total station, or a remote-controlled boat.
- Computer – Work with various forms of engineering/surveying data to produce reports or studies.
- Permitting – Assist in the preparation of mining maps and permits.
- Design – Assist in engineering projects with field oversite and/or design of mine roads, ponds, and special projects.
- Sampling - Work on the groundwater, soil sampling, and geological programs.
- MSHA law/safety/environmental – Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Required Enrolled in accredited engineering/surveying program and in good academic standing with the college or university.
- Completed at least 1 year of college in the associated field of study and intents on completing the degree.
- Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license.

- NOTE: This position requires working rotating shifts. The role involves approximately 80% indoor work and 20% outdoor work.
- Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, face shield, and respirator.
- Must also successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and the applicable Job Function Test (JFT).
