Your Role
As a Staff Nurse, you will:
- Learn how to provide trachea and ventilator care and help staff to deliver a range of care services, including social activities.
- Ensure that the personal care and other health needs of Residents are met and that assigned duties are executed in a professional and caring manner, giving due regard to the Home\’s core values, values framework and the Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Health and Social Care Workers and the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Ensure all relevant clinical documentation is in place, reflects the current clinical and care needs of the Resident as updated monthly, (or more often if the Residents condition changes) to ensure accurate records are maintained, in line with the Home\’s policies and procedures and NMC guidance on record keeping.
- Administer prescribed medication to Residents in line with the instructions of the prescribing doctor and the Home\’s medication policies and procedures, and NMC guidance on the Standards of Medication Administration.
- Act at all times to uphold the CQC domains ensuring care delivered is safe, caring, effective and responsive.
- Use the clinical governance framework and adverse event reporting procedures as per the Home\’s policy and procedures to identify and report any adverse events, particularly in respect of patient safety or other reportable events.
What We\’re Looking For
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RN1) with active NMC registration
- Understanding of NMC Code of Professional Conduct
- Proficiency in dispensing and administrating oral medication
- The ability of managing and prioritising conflicting workloads
- Interest to develop knowledge of the clinical speciality and own practice
- Experience in neuro rehabilitation environment
- Awareness and understanding of current neuro health issues
- Computer literacy skills
