The Fairlie Healthcare Group is a leading provider of high-quality care established in 1999. We specialise in caring for adults with neurological conditions, those with tracheostomies, and patients who require ventilator support. We operate three homes: Fairlie House in West Norwood (45 beds), Highfield House in Purley (45 beds), and Woodstown House in Banstead (40 beds, opened in April 2021). All three homes have achieved the highest rating from the Care Quality Commission and we continually strive to maintain our “Outstanding” rating. We are driven to provide the very best standards of care to those we support, and to achieve this we need empathetic individuals who are passionate about helping others.

Scope

The Housekeeping Assistant will be responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks performed daily, weekly, and monthly. Duties include cleaning bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, clinical rooms, sluice rooms, therapy rooms, the communal resident lounge, communal dining room, offices, changing rooms, stairs, and corridors.

What will my duties be?

  • Ensure the cleaning work schedule is followed, tasks are completed, and quality standards are maintained.
  • Demonstrate courtesy, consideration, and kindness when working with residents.
  • Work effectively within the Housekeeping Team and uphold the home’s core values.
  • Coordinate with management and staff to handle unexpected cleaning tasks.
  • Store cleaning materials correctly as required by COSHH and keep all equipment in good working order.
  • Carry out all required safety measures, including health and safety, safeguarding of vulnerable adults, infection prevention and control, the Mental Capacity Act, manual handling, gold standards framework, first aid, CPR, COSH, food hygiene, core values & framework, equality, diversity and inclusion, information governance, and fire safety.

What do I need to be successful?

  • Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • No specific qualifications required, though experience cleaning and working in a laundry environment is beneficial.
  • Consistency, reliability, and hard work with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Full training from Housekeeping will be provided to ensure you have all the relevant material.
