As Account Director, you will take full strategic and operational ownership of a prestigious commercially led security contract valued at approximately £4 million annually. This flagship account is of significant strategic importance to the organisation and requires a commercially astute, operationally credible, and client-focused individual capable of driving service excellence and long-term account growth.

You will act as the senior point of contact for the client, building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders including Heads of Security, Facilities Directors, Procurement teams, and wider leadership functions.

This role requires a balance of strategic account leadership and operational oversight, ensuring exceptional service delivery, contract compliance, client satisfaction, retention, and commercial performance.

Experience within high-profile or high-security environments, including knowledge of counter-terrorism measures, Martyn’s Law, incident management, and partnership working with police and emergency services is highly advantageous.

You will work closely with operational teams to ensure service excellence, workforce optimisation, contract profitability, and identification of opportunities to enhance service delivery through innovation and technology-led solutions.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct Management of: Security Managers, Site Managers, Operational Leadership Teams, Security Supervisors
  • Full ownership of a prestigious flagship security account valued at approximately £4 million.
  • Full P&L responsibility, budget management, forecasting, and commercial performance.
  • Ownership of contractual compliance, KPI delivery, SLA achievement, and governance frameworks.
  • Strategic client relationship management across senior stakeholder groups.
  • Submission of operational and commercial reports to senior leadership.
  • Identification of account growth opportunities, service enhancements, and value-add initiatives.
  • Oversight of operational capability whilst ensuring strategic contract objectives are achieved.
  • Driving continuous improvement across operational delivery, service standards, and innovation.
  • Ensuring effective communication between operational teams, client stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Recruitment, succession planning, performance management, and development of direct reports.
  • Supporting implementation of technology-driven security solutions and operational efficiencies.
  • Managing and controlling contract profitability, direct and indirect costs.
  • Leading business retention strategies and contract renewal activity.
  • Liaising with Police, emergency services, and external stakeholders on security-related matters where required.
  • Promoting and driving a strong security culture throughout the account, ensuring required security protocols are consistently adhered to.

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

  • Experience within Security Management / Security Solutions.
  • Experience managing high-value commercially led contracts or key accounts.
  • Experience managing P&L / budgetary responsibility.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of contract growth and profitability management.
  • Proven client relationship management at senior stakeholder level.
  • Evidence of consistently motivating and managing teams.
  • Experience working on demanding, detail-orientated projects with challenging delivery timeframes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead from the front and inspire teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at board level with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • High quality communication and presentation capability.
  • SIA Licence.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated & opportunistic.
