The Role
To undertake remedial electrical works, maintenance, fault finding, and repair works across a variety of commercial and industrial sites. Reporting to the Electrical Manager, the successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently whilst maintaining a customer-focused approach.
The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of delivering work to a high standard within agreed timescales. Flexibility to travel across the Watford and Milton Keynes region is essential.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out remedial electrical works following Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
- Diagnose faults and complete electrical repairs across commercial and industrial installations.
- Conduct maintenance and reactive works in line with current regulations and company procedures.
- Undertake installation and replacement of electrical components and systems where required.
- Ensure all works comply with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Complete testing, inspection, and certification accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise professionally with clients and site representatives to ensure effective communication throughout works.
- Maintain accurate documentation and job records in line with company procedures.
- Provide a consistent, high-quality service whilst working independently and using initiative.
- Ensure company standards, safety procedures, and compliance requirements are always maintained.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, and customers.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve service delivery and achieve first-time fixes.
- Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
The successful candidate should have the ability to perform their role in support of the wider operational objectives and continued growth of the business.
Person and Skills Required:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
- Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) advantageous.
- ECS Card essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong fault-finding and remedial works experience within commercial or industrial environments.
- Experience working from EICRs and carrying out associated remedial actions.
- Excellent understanding of current electrical regulations and safe working practices.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
