The Role

To undertake the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure and associated electrical systems across commercial and industrial sites. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will possess a strong electrical background and experience working with EV charging equipment and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator at all levels and capable of delivering high-quality work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional customer service standards. We are looking for someone hardworking, self-motivated, and willing to travel throughout the South East region.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of EV charging systems in accordance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Carry out electrical installations, testing, inspection, and maintenance works across a range of commercial and industrial environments.
  • Diagnose faults and provide effective repair solutions for EV charging infrastructure and associated electrical systems.
  • Coordinate installation layouts with other M&E services and site teams.
  • Ensure all installations comply with current wiring regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance works.
  • Provide a high level of customer service whilst maintaining strong technical standards.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, certification, and reports.
  • Work independently and use initiative whilst maintaining company standards and procedures.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve service delivery and achieve first-time fixes.
  • Completion of site surveys and technical assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, and account management teams to determine project requirements and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
  • Carry out all works in a safe and diligent manner in line with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

The successful candidate should have the ability to exercise their role in support of the wider business strategy and operational objectives.

Person and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Experience working with commercial EV charging equipment is advantageous.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
  • ECS Card preferable.
  • Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Substantial, demonstrable experience within a similar electrical engineering role.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Customer focused with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and desire to succeed.
