The predicted salary is between 20 - 30 £ per hour.

The FA's Para Division are looking for an experienced Physical Performance Coach to support the delivery of Para Football 'Rehab Days' inclusive of in-person gym and pitch-based session delivery and remote programming for players returning from injury. This is a casual contract initially running until 31 July 2026, with an anticipated commitment of up to 30 days per season, including duties that may require travel outside the UK.

Interviews are scheduled to be held at The National Football Centre, St. George's Park on Wednesday 11th February 2025. This will be held over the full day and will include a practical session.

Please note the following Para Rehab Day dates, all of which the successful candidate will need to be present at: 21st Feb, 21st Mar, 25th Apr, 30th May, 13th June.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Provide individualised strength and conditioning programming to players based on game and individual demands.
  • Working with the Rehab Physio, develop a profiling battery for rehab in Para Football, with associated return to play metrics, to quantify player progression.
  • Collect, collate and maintain database on physical profiling of players.
  • Provide on-camp support at 'rehab days' inclusive of gym-, pitch- and recovery-based session delivery alongside the Rehab Physio.
  • Work with Rehab Physio, Squad Physios and Squad Physical Performance Coaches around return to play strategies for rehabbing players.
  • Work with the Nutritionist to inform players' fuelling demands.
  • Provide educational sessions to players & coaches.
  • Support additional physical performance areas across Para Football squads, when needed.
  • Attendance of mandated training (i.e. EMAiF, UKAD Introduction to Clean Sport, CRC check, Safeguarding).
  • Execute additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What Will You Need?

Essential for the role:

  • Knowledge Undergraduate degree in sport performance related subjects.
  • Strength and conditioning accreditation (e.g., UKSCA, NSCA, ASCA).
  • UKAD Introduction to Clean Sport Experience.
  • Excellent coaching skills and extensive experience as a physical performance / strength and conditioning coach in elite sport.
  • Expertise within a specific domain of physical performance.
  • Experience working with athletes undertaking rehab.
  • Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using force frames/plates (Vald or similar).
  • Experience with isokinetic dynamometry.

Beneficial to have:

  • Knowledge Postgraduate degree in sport performance related subjects.
  • Experience in: working in elite football, working with female athletes, working with Para athletes, developing profiling batteries and return to play metrics.
  • Technical Skills Experience using Kitman Labs.
  • Experience with online training platforms (e.g., Teambuildr).
