The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is recruiting for a Volunteer Organiser on a part-time permanent basis, based at our Wixams Retirement Village in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Organiser to join our friendly team and support the village's commitment in delivering ExtraCare's mission of “better lives for older people”.

Role: Volunteer Organiser
Hours: 20 hours per week
Salary: £13.77 per hour (£14,359pa, pro rata of £26,924pa FTE)
Location: Wixams Retirement Village, Bedford Road, Bedford, MK42 6EA
As our Volunteer Organiser you will have the following skills and experience:
- Lead on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers both within and outside of the Village in line with the Volunteering strategy and policy.
- Raise the profile of volunteering within the Village to staff, residents, and visitors.
- Work with the Activities Coordinator at the Village to ensure appropriate numbers of Volunteers are available to assist with events and activities.
- Develop partnerships with external organisations such as universities, colleges, and local volunteer centres to build the Village's volunteer base.
- Encourage residents to contribute to the running of their location through volunteering.
- Co-ordinate the induction of all new volunteers.
- Host an annual volunteer recognition event.
Person Specification:
- You must have effective communication skills and be able to build rapport with volunteers and residents.
- The ability to be an effective influencer and engaging.
- Good networking skills.
- Proactive and enthusiastic with initiative.
- You will need to be fully flexible as this role requires some weekend working and Bank holidays on a rota basis.
