The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a Fitness Instructor on a permanent contract to join our supportive team, based at our Lovat Fields Retirement Village in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fitness Instructor to join our friendly team at our Lovat Fields location and support the village's commitment in delivering ExtraCare's mission of “better lives for older people”. We provide a domiciliary care service all under one roof. No more travelling!
The Role
- Role: Fitness Instructor
- Hours: 18.75 hours per week, 4 days per week, daytime/weekdays, however some weekend working may be required
- Salary: £14.34 per hour
- Location: Lovat Fields, Japonica Lane, Milton Keynes, MK15 9ED
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver a variety of classes tailored to suit our residents, including: Balance & Falls Prevention, Dance-based sessions, Pilates, Gym-based exercise
- Create inclusive and adaptable workouts to suit different abilities and needs
- Provide individual support and encouragement to residents
- Actively promote gym memberships to residents, focusing on the benefits to health, wellbeing and maintaining independence
- Support residents with inductions and develop personal action plans to increase their health and wellbeing
- Work with Wellbeing Advisors, Dementia and Mental Wellbeing Enablers to encourage residents to join the gym or attend classes that may benefit their overall health
What we're looking for:
- A recognised fitness qualification (group and/or personal training)
- Previous experience in a similar role
- A warm, compassionate approach and genuine enthusiasm for supporting older adults
- Ability to adapt classes to suit different fitness levels
- Excellent communication and people skills
