We are embarking on an exciting period of growth and are now looking for a passionate Retail Area Support Manager who, along with the Regional Manager, will support our growing portfolio of shops within the midlands region. This role would be perfect for someone looking for their first step into area management, or a person who already has this experience but would like to transition into a thriving and ambitious charity where there may be opportunity to become a future Regional Manager for us, as we open more new stores. The Retail Area Support Manager will join our award-winning charity, The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, and contribute to our mission of creating âbetter lives for older peopleâ.
The Role
Do you have a passion for retail and a commitment to making a difference? ExtraCare are looking for a Retail Area Support Manager who will assist the Regional Manager (Central) to ensure the region is profitable, commercially focused and delivering excellent customer service. You will be responsible for conducting shop visits, assisting with recruitment, coaching new starters, supporting with new shop openings and on occasion covering shops to ensure we are open and trading. The role is full time, (37.5 hours per week) permanent, with regular visits to stores across the central midlands region. The ideal candidate should live within this area or a commutable distance. There will be extensive travel across the region and access to your own car and driving licence is essential. At ExtraCare every sale in our stores helps fund vital services that transform lives. Role Details
- Role: Retail Area Support Manager
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time, permanent), able to work occasional weekends if the business requires support.
- Location: Central â Regular travel to shops across the Midlands Region
- Salary: ÂŁ29,000pa, plus annual ÂŁ3,500 Car Allowance
Key Duties:
- Conducting shop visits and audits to ensure we are operationally compliant and commercially focused.
- Ensuring consistent operational standards across all locations.
- Leading and inspiring store managers to deliver exceptional customer service and strong commercial results.
- Assisting the region with training and development needs by supporting new staff during their induction.
- Supporting shop staff with the recruitment and induction of volunteers.
- Promoting the Gift Aid scheme across shops in order to maximise opportunity and staff confidence.
- Assisting with stock take processes and analysis.
- Supporting with new shop openings by co-ordinating stock plans and equipment orders.
- Working with shop teams to identify items that should be sold on our online marketplaces (eBay).
