The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting for Relief Catering Assistants to join our supportive team, based at our Wixams Retirement Village in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Catering Assistants to join our friendly team and support the village's commitment in delivering ExtraCare's mission of “better lives for older people”. We provide a domiciliary care service all under one roof.

Role: Relief Catering Assistant
Hours: Adhoc / as required
Salary: £14.12 per hour
Location: Wixams Retirement Village, Bedford Road, Bedford, MK42 6EA
As a Catering Assistant you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and service of a variety of hot and cold meals, buffets, dishes and beverages in the Restaurant/Bistro.
- Ensure food produced is well presented and of a high quality standard.
- Set up dining area as appropriate.
- Maintain kitchen and food stores in a clean and tidy condition.
- Receive and check deliveries of stores, chilled and frozen meals etc.
- Record the temperature of chilled and frozen meals on arrival and transfer immediately to cold store.
- Ensure company Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is followed for all food management.
Person Specification:
- Ability to support the catering function and deliver a customer focused service.
- Personable, an effective communicator and a team player.
- Passionate about delivering a quality care service.
- Flexible with hours.
