The role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Key Account Manager (Protection) to help strengthen our presence across the North of England and drive meaningful growth. As our Key Account Manager, you’ll be the face of The Exeter in your region - developing strong relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and ensuring we continue to exceed expectations. You’ll nurture partnerships with Network representatives, intermediaries, and business providers while delivering outstanding service and meeting Annual Premium Income targets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Growing and developing accounts to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Deliver agreed annual premium income targets in line with business objectives and Distribution Quality Measures (DQM) spotting opportunities for cross‑selling across protection products
  • Collaborating with Telephone Account Managers and the wider Sales Team
  • Building trusted, influential relationships across your region
  • Analysing performance and identifying growth opportunities
  • Implementing regional sales plans to enhance market presence
  • Managing your territory efficiently to maximise adviser engagement
  • Delivering engaging workshops, presentations and training sessions
  • Maintaining strong product knowledge and handling objections effectively
  • Producing accurate activity, pipeline, and performance reports.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience working with financial advisers and/or Wealth Managers
  • Strong knowledge of protection insurance products
  • A demonstrable track record of developing and growing new and existing accounts
  • Excellent relationship and territory management skills
  • Ideally CII qualified (or working towards it)
  • Confident with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and Power BI
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
